SANTA ANA, Calif.– Aug. 27, 2019 - Orange County's Credit Union, a Santa Ana-based financial services provider with more than 116,000 Members, raised over $44,000 to donate to CHOC Children’s at the 2019 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by the Disneyland® Resort. Over 200 Orange County Credit Union Members and Associates participated in this year’s CHOC Walk in the Park on Aug. 11. SANTA ANA, Calif. – Aug. 6, 2019 – Orange County’s Credit Union, a Santa Ana-based financial services provider with more than 116,000 Members, awards four students with scholarships toward continuing their education. This year, the annual scholarship program selected the four exceptional high school and college students based on academic performance, community service, and a personal essay. The 2019 Orange County’s Credit Union scholarship winners include: Izabella Apodaca, from La Serna High School in Whittier, who’s been a dedicated mentor to younger students at her high school. In addition to paying it forward in school, Izabella also volunteered her time to coach basketball teams at her former middle school and her community church. SANTA ANA, Calif. – June 5, 2019 – Orange County’s Credit Union, a Santa Ana-based financial services provider with more than 112,000 Members, raised over $4,000 to donate to CHOC Children’s Hospital (CHOC) at their latest Shred and e-Waste Day events in partnership with Williams Data Management and California Electronics Recycler. Over the course of two days, the Credit Union collected 24,470 pounds of paper and 10,020 pounds of electronics to safely recycle. Members of Orange County’s Credit Union had the option of attending the event at either the Orange County Employer Association location in Santa Ana or the Orange County’s Credit Union Santa Ana branch location off St. Andrew Place. SANTA ANA, Calif. – April 18, 2019 – Orange County’s Credit Union announced it was recently honored with the 2019 Peter Barron Stark Companies’ Award for Workplace Excellence, an award recognizing organizations that are committed to creating excellent company culture based upon employee feedback. Moreover, Peter Barron Stark Companies named the Credit Union one of the Best-of-the-Best organizations, a recognition given to those whose results exceed the Best-of-the-Best benchmark, which represents the top 25% of companies surveyed. Orange County’s Credit Union’s survey had an overall satisfaction score of 92.9, 7.8 points above the Best-of-the-Best benchmark, and a 96% response rate from its 316 Associates. SANTA ANA, Calif. – Nov. 26, 2018 – Orange County’s Credit Union, a financial institution dedicated to providing simple banking for people, not for profit, launches its third annual holiday toy drive to benefit local charities in the community.   From now through the end of November into December, all ten of the Credit Union’s branches are openly receiving new, unwrapped toys. The Credit Union received the California Advocate Credit Union of the Year Award during the annual meeting and convention for the Ontario, Calif.-based trade association for the two states, held Nov. 5–9 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif. ORANGE, Calif. – Oct. 17 2018 – Credit Unions for Kids, a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions and credit union partners engaged in fundraising activities for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, recently announced a commitment to raise $5 million in five years for CHOC Children’s. In recognition of the pledge and history of support, CHOC is naming a new space the Credit Unions for Kids Community Engagement Center.   Located in the CHOC Children’s Foundation office, set to open in January 2019, the center will accommodate approximately 80 people for lectures, meetings, training programs, and receptions. It will feature state-of-the-art audiovisual and conferencing technologies, and moveable furnishings to support multiple room configurations. SANTA ANA, Calif. – Jul 27, 2018 – Orange County’s Credit Union offers an annual program to provide scholarships to its eligible members who have earned good grades and committed themselves to giving back to the local community. This year, five out of 26 applicants were chosen to receive $500, each based on essays, weighted objective criteria, academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, and personal goals. Applicants were also required to provide SAT scores, ACT scores, letters of recommendation, and a resume.
